Eggerelloides mediusは堆積物粒子から多室の凝集した殻を構築する単細胞海洋生物である底生有孔虫です。浅海から中程度の水深の沿岸環境の細粒海洋堆積物に生息します。他の有孔虫と同様に腐植物や細菌を食べ、有機物の再鉱物化を含む底生生地球化学サイクルに役割を果たします。
