African elephant
Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, and flooded grasslands and savannas, among 5 distinct biome types within the Afrotropic biogeographic realm. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.
Found in Kenya. Currently classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, this species faces significant conservation challenges across its range.

豊かな栗褐色の羽毛、黒い頭部、白い腹部を持つ小型のがっしりしたカエデチョウ科フィンチで、インドとスリランカから東南アジアを経てフィリピンと台湾まで、草地、水田、開けた林縁に生息する。非常に群れを作る習性があり、大きな群れを形成し、稲作の小規模害虫とみなされることもある。アジア全域で飼育用鳥として広く飼育され、比較的容易に繁殖・飼育できる。
