Actinocatenispora thailandica is a filamentous actinobacterium forming chains of spores that give it its genus name, first described from Thailand. It inhabits tropical forest soils of Southeast Asia. This aerobic chemoheterotroph decomposes complex organic polymers including chitin and cellulose and may produce bioactive secondary metabolites.
