The Amami Rabbit (Pentalagus furnessi) is a species in the genus Pentalagus. It is currently classified as Endangered on the IUCN Red List. Typically found in diverse terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.
Sphingobacterium cladoniae is a Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium first isolated from the lichen Cladonia. It inhabits lichen thalli and associated substrates in temperate and boreal environments. This bacterium may play roles in nutrient cycling within the lichen microbiome, degrading organic compounds from algal and fungal lichen components.
