Engoulevent à nuque rousse

The Collared Nightjar, known scientifically as <em>Gactornis enarratus</em>, is a nocturnal bird belonging to the family Caprimulgidae, the nightjars. <em>Gactornis enarratus</em> is characterised by the cryptic, bark-like plumage typical of nightjars, with intricate patterns of brown, grey, and black that provide excellent camouflage when the bird rests on the ground or along branches during the day. Nightjars in this family are aerial insectivores, typically foraging at dusk and during the night by catching flying insects in flight using their wide gape. The species is associated with forested habitats and forest edges. It is reported to occur in Norway according to available range data.
