About

Uno de los cacatuas mas grandes e iconicos, los cacatuas de cresta amarilla habitan bosques y matorrales del este de Australia, Nueva Guinea y las Molucas, y han sido introducidos en Nueva Zelanda. Son muy inteligentes, longevos (hasta 70 anos en cautiverio), muy sociales y famosamente ruidosos, con llamadas que se escuchan a mas de 1 km. Se han convertido en especies plaga en areas urbanas donde arrancan corteza, mastican madera y danan cultivos, demostrando una notable adaptabilidad a entornos modificados por humanos.
