Roseibium album es una alfaproteobacteria gramnegativa de la familia Rhodobacteraceae capaz de fotosintesis anoxigenica aerobia mediante bacterioclorofila. Fue aislada de sedimentos marinos costeros y forma colonias blancas a palidas, atipicas para muchas bacterias fototrofas. Su versatilidad metabolica le permite alternar entre crecimiento fotosintetico y heterotrofico segun la disponibilidad de luz.
