Arcyria incarnata es un mixomicete (moho mucilaginoso) de colores brillantes que produce densos grupos de esporangios cilíndricos de color rosa a carne sobre madera en descomposición y hojarasca en hábitats forestales. Durante su fase vegetativa existe como un plasmodio móvil que se alimenta de bacterias, hongos y partículas orgánicas. Esta especie se encuentra en todo el mundo en entornos forestales húmedos y sombreados con abundante madera muerta.
