Navicula digitoradiata es una diatomea penada de agua dulce con contorno lanceolado y estrias radiales en forma de dedo que se extienden desde un nodulo central. Habita zonas bentonicas epilelicas en rios, lagos y ambientes salobres de regiones templadas y subtropicales. Esta diatomea fotosintetica contribuye a las comunidades de biofilm en la superficie de los sedimentos.
