Lamproderma pseudomaculatum es un mixomiceto que produce esporangios oscuros y brillantes con iridescencia metálica en su superficie, creciendo sobre material vegetal en descomposición y suelo en hábitats frescos y húmedos. Los miembros del género Lamproderma se encuentran característicamente en entornos alpinos, subalpinos y de tundra ártica bajo nieves persistentes. Esta especie contribuye a la descomposición y al reciclaje de nutrientes en ecosistemas de alta montaña.
