Inocybe margaritispora es un pequeño hongo fibroso con esporas en forma de perla o verrugosas que lo distinguen dentro del amplio género Inocybe. Crece en bosques caducifolios templados, formando asociaciones ectomicorrícicas con hayas, robles y otros árboles de madera dura. Este hongo intercambia nutrientes con las raíces de los árboles y los cuerpos fructíferos aparecen en el suelo del bosque en verano y otoño.
