Hymenoscyphus albidus es un pequeño hongo en copa blanco de la familia Helotiaceae, estrechamente relacionado con el patógeno altamente invasivo de la marchitez del fresno H. fraxineus. Forma pequeños apotecios con pedúnculo sobre pecíolos de hojas de fresno caídas en bosques europeos y actualmente se considera una especie nativa rara desplazada por el patógeno introducido.
