Hebeloma fragilipes es una pequeña seta con estipe delgado, sombrero de color marrón pálido a ocre y un pie distintivamente frágil, de ahí su nombre específico. Crece en pastizales, brezales y bordes de bosque en Europa, formando asociaciones micorrícicas con diversos árboles y arbustos. Como muchas especies de Hebeloma, produce un débil olor a rábano y se considera moderadamente tóxica.
