Green Sea Turtle
La tortuga verde (Chelonia mydas) es una de las tortugas marinas más grandes. Su nombre proviene del color verde de su cartílago y grasa, no del caparazón.
Tolypothrix rivularis es una cianobacteria filamentosa con heterocistos que se encuentra en arroyos, rios y charcas de agua dulce, frecuentemente adherida a rocas y plantas acuaticas en habitats de aguas corrientes. Puede fijar nitrogeno atmosferico mediante heterocistos y forma filamentos de ramificacion falsa caracteristicos del genero. Esta especie contribuye al ciclo de nutrientes en ecosistemas de agua dulce loticos de zonas templadas.
