La tortuga verde (Chelonia mydas) es una de las tortugas marinas más grandes. Su nombre proviene del color verde de su cartílago y grasa, no del caparazón.
Staphylococcus gallinarum es un coco grampositivo coagulasa-negativo de la familia Staphylococcaceae, aislado por primera vez de aves de corral. Forma parte del diverso genero Staphylococcus, que habita la piel y las membranas mucosas de vertebrados, y generalmente se considera una especie comensal. Su nombre deriva del termino latino para pollo, lo que refleja su asociacion original con ese hospedador.
