El cotorra pechiroja (Psittacula alexandri) es un periquito de tamano mediano con el pecho y las mejillas de color rojo rosado que contrastan con el plumaje verde y gris. Se distribuye por el sur y sudeste de Asia desde Nepal e India hasta Vietnam e Indonesia. Habita bosques, manglares y zonas cultivadas, reuniendose a menudo en grandes bandadas en arboles frutales y cultivos de grano.
