La tortuga verde (Chelonia mydas) es una de las tortugas marinas más grandes. Su nombre proviene del color verde de su cartílago y grasa, no del caparazón.
Pseudokephyrion alaskanum es un flagelado algal crisofito encerrado dentro de una lorica en forma de vaso o frasco, encontrado en habitats de agua dulce como lagos y turberas de Alaska y potencialmente otras regiones norteñas.
