La tortuga verde (Chelonia mydas) es una de las tortugas marinas más grandes. Su nombre proviene del color verde de su cartílago y grasa, no del caparazón.
Neonectria punicea es un hongo pirenomiceto de la familia Nectriaceae, clasificado como de Preocupacion Menor (LC). Produce perithecios de color rojo brillante o carmesi sobre madera muerta y corteza de arboles de hoja ancha. Es un hongo saprotrofico ampliamente distribuido en bosques templados del hemisferio norte.
