Pluteus exiguus es un pequeno hongo de sombrero palido en el genero Pluteus, cuyos laminas y esporas adquieren tonos rosados al madurar. Crece sobre troncos y tocones de madera dura en descomposicion en bosques templados europeos. Este hongo saprotrofo descompone madera muerta y obtiene nutrientes mediante la degradacion enzimatica del tejido vegetal lignificado.
