Komodo Dragon
Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests, and tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, among 4 distinct biome types spanning the Australasia and Indomalayan realms. Populations are also found in montane and highland environments at higher elevations.
Found in Indonesia. Currently classified as Endangered on the IUCN Red List, this species faces significant conservation challenges across its range.
Ensifer shofinae es una alfaproteobacteria fijadora de nitrógeno de la familia Rhizobiaceae, capaz de formar nódulos simbióticos en raíces de plantas leguminosas. Al igual que otras especies de Ensifer, fija el nitrógeno atmosférico a cambio de compuestos carbonados de su planta hospedadora, lo que la hace ecológicamente importante en suelos bajos en nitrógeno. Fue aislada de nódulos radiculares y caracterizada en base a rasgos moleculares y fenotípicos.
