Habitat & Geographic Range
Found across multiple habitat types including tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests, tropical and subtropical dry broadleaf forests, and tropical and subtropical grasslands and savannas, among 9 distinct biome types spanning the Neotropic and Palearctic realms. Disciseda candida es un pequeño gastromiceto similar a un bejín con cuerpo fructífero esférico aplanado de color blanco a crema que se desprende de su base subterránea al madurar. Habita suelos calcáreos y arenosos secos en ambientes estépicos y de pastizales secos en Europa central y oriental. Este hongo saprótrofo descompone materia orgánica en suelos de pastizales áridos y dispersa esporas cuando su peridio papiráceo se fragmenta.
