Foca común
El pinípedo de distribución más amplia, la foca común (Phoca vitulina) habita las costas templadas y subárticas del Atlántico Norte y el Pacífico Norte. Los adultos alcanzan hasta 130 kg y pasan aproximadamente el mismo tiempo en el mar cazando peces, calamares y crustáceos que descansando en playas y rocas.
