The Collared Titi, known scientifically as <em>Cheracebus torquatus</em>, is a small New World monkey belonging to the family Pitheciidae. <em>Cheracebus torquatus</em> is characterised by its typically dense, soft fur and a pale or white collar or band around the neck and throat region, which gives the species its common and scientific names. Titi monkeys are generally arboreal and highly social, typically living in small family groups occupying territories in forested habitats. They are known for their distinctive pair-bonding behaviour and loud territorial vocalisations. The species inhabits diverse terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Detailed biological traits including typical lifespan, body length, and weight are poorly documented for this species in available literature. El silfo coliazul (Aglaiocercus kingii) es uno de los colibríes con mayor ornamentación, y los machos presentan plumaje verde iridiscente junto con timoneras externas dramáticamente alargadas, en forma de cintas, que alcanzan hasta 22 cm, más de tres veces la longitud del cuerpo. Habita los bosques nublados andinos de Colombia y Venezuela, en bosques montanos húmedos entre los 1.400 y los 2.800 metros de altitud. Los machos realizan elaborados vuelos de exhibición para atraer a las hembras. Sus exuberantes colas son un ejemplo clásico de selección sexual por preferencia femenina.
