El colibri jaspeado (Adelomyia melanogenys) es un colibri de tamano mediano con partes inferiores moteadas o jaspeadas, inusual entre los colibries de plumaje liso o iridiscente. Habita bosques nubosos y bordes de bosque en los Andes, desde Colombia y Venezuela hasta Bolivia, a elevaciones de 900-3.000 metros. El patron jaspeado de las partes inferiores proporciona un excelente camuflaje cuando el ave se posa sobre corteza cubierta de liquenes. Es un importante polinizador de epifitas andinas.
