El pino longevo de la Gran Cuenca es el árbol individual más antiguo conocido en la Tierra, pudiendo vivir más de 5.000 años en los duros ambientes subalpinos azotados por el viento de las Montañas Blancas de California y la región de la Gran Cuenca.
