Biscogniauxia repanda es un hongo pirenomiceto que produce estromas planos en forma de costra con peritecios incrustados sobre la corteza de madera muerta. Habita bosques templados y mediterráneos, creciendo sobre ramas y tallos muertos de robles, castaños y otros árboles de hoja caduca. Este ascomiceto saprótrofo descompone la madera muerta y coloniza árboles estresados o dañados.
