Coprinopsis pseudofriesii es un pequeño hongo tinta emparentado con el hongo tinta alargado, con un sombrero gris pálido que se licua al madurar. Crece en suelos muy orgánicos, compost viejo y cerca de restos leñosos enterrados en bosques templados.
