Una de las amazonas mas grandes, la amazona harinosa (Amazona farinosa) tiene plumaje verde-polvoriento sutil con cabeza gris-azulada y un brillo caracteristico harinoso o polvoriento en las plumas que le da su nombre. Se encuentra en bosque tropical de tierras bajas desde el sur de Mexico a traves de Centroamerica y la mayor parte de Sudamerica hasta Bolivia y Brasil. Habita bosque humedo y bordes de bosque, viajando en parejas o pequenos grupos. Catalogada como Preocupacion Menor globalmente, aunque afectada localmente por la perdida de habitat y el comercio de mascotas.
