Flagelloscypha punctiformis es un pequeño hongo en copa peludo con minúsculos apotecios blancos a crema con llamativas cerdas en la superficie exterior. Crece sobre ramas y ramitas muertas de árboles de madera dura en bosques templados europeos. Este ascomiceto saprotrófico descompone el material vegetal leñoso muerto en su hábitat forestal.
