Achlya bisexualis es un oomiceto de la familia Saprolegniaceae que descompone materia orgánica en hábitats de agua dulce y puede actuar como patógeno de peces e invertebrados. Presenta un fascinante sistema de reproducción sexual mediado por feromonas, extensamente estudiado como modelo de señalización hormonal esteroide en eucariotas inferiores. Sus colonias miceliares colonizan rápidamente restos de insectos y plantas en aguas de escasa corriente.

Tigre

El felino mas grande del mundo, el tigre puede superar los 300 kg y habita bosques desde el Extremo Oriente ruso hasta el Sudeste Asiatico. Es un depredador solitario de emboscada con su caracteristico pelaje naranja y negro a rayas que proporciona camuflaje entre la luz filtrada. Esta en Peligro Critico, con menos de 4.000 individuos que quedan en estado silvestre debido a la caza furtiva y la deforestacion.
