Gemeine Heideschnecke

The common heath snail, <em>Helicella itala</em>, is a terrestrial gastropod mollusc belonging to the family Geomitridae. It is typically found in terrestrial and aquatic habitats including forests and freshwater environments, with a distribution spanning Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Poland, and Sweden. As a land snail, <em>Helicella itala</em> is associated with dry, calcareous grasslands and heathlands, often in areas with sparse vegetation and warm, well-drained soils.
