It has been isolated from activated sludge and contaminated soil environments. This metabolically specialized bacterium participates in the breakdown of synthetic chelants in wastewater treatment systems.
Stenotrophomonas ginsengisoli is a gram-negative, aerobic bacterium in the family Xanthomonadaceae, originally isolated from ginseng field soil in South Korea. Like other Stenotrophomonas species, it is metabolically versatile and well-adapted to diverse soil conditions. Its conservation status is not evaluated.
