Roseibium album is a Gram-negative alphaproteobacterium in the family Rhodobacteraceae, capable of aerobic anoxygenic photosynthesis using bacteriochlorophyll. It was isolated from coastal marine sediments and forms white to pale colonies, atypical for many phototrophic bacteria. Its metabolic versatility allows it to switch between photosynthetic and heterotrophic growth depending on light availability.
