Eucapsis minuta is a very small colonial cyanobacterium that forms cubic or rectangular aggregates of cells arranged in three planes within a common gelatinous matrix. It is found in freshwater and terrestrial habitats worldwide and contributes to aquatic and soil microbial communities. Its conservation status is not evaluated.
