Staphylococcus lentus is a coagulase-negative Gram-positive coccus primarily found on the skin of domestic animals including sheep, goats, and pigs. It inhabits the skin and mucosal surfaces of various mammalian hosts. This slow-growing commensal bacterium rarely causes disease but is occasionally isolated from animal skin infections.

Habitat & Distribution

Native to Asia, inhabiting ecosystems characteristic of the region.

Found in Taiwan.
