Nevesia sampaiana is a rare corticioid or resupinate basidiomycete fungus found on dead wood in old-growth forests. It is named after the Portuguese botanist Gonçalo Sampaio and is known from a limited number of European locations. Classified as Vulnerable, it depends on the presence of mature forest with abundant deadwood, threatened by intensive forestry and wood removal.
