Scytinostromella heterogenea is a corticioid basidiomycete fungus forming thin, resupinate fruitbodies on decaying wood in forest habitats. Its smooth to slightly bumpy surface and pale coloration are characteristic of the genus. Assessed as Data Deficient, it is recorded from temperate European forests but its distribution and frequency are not well documented.
