Protoparmeliopsis achariana es un liquen foliose costroso con un talo areolado amarillento-grisaceo que se encuentra sobre superficies rocosas desnudas. Habita paredes rocosas calcarcas expuestas y afloramientos secos y soleados en Europa templada y mediterranea.
