Apiognomonia erythrostoma es un patógeno fúngico responsable de la quemadura de hojas de cerezo y la mancha foliar, causando lesiones amarillo-marrones y defoliación prematura en cerezos (especies de Prunus) y otras rosáceas de hueso afines. Inverna en hojas caídas infectadas y dispersa ascosporas durante el tiempo húmedo de primavera para iniciar nuevas infecciones. Este patógeno afecta tanto a árboles Prunus silvestres como cultivados en regiones templadas.
