Burkholderia ubonensis es una bacteria Gram-negativa que habita en el suelo, aislada por primera vez en arrozales de la provincia de Ubon Ratchathani, Tailandia. Habita en suelos tropicales de arrozales y ambientes agrícolas del sudeste asiático. Este quimioheterótrofo aerobio descompone la materia orgánica en suelos inundados de cultivo de arroz.
